Play Mania’s Fan Q&A with Play
The girls of Play wanted to give fans and visitors of Play Mania an opportunity to ask them questions. I’ve put all of the questions and the girls’ answers on pages so it’s easier for everyone to read and see what Sanne, Anais, Emelie, and their management had to say!

Tjomirs asks…
To Anais: I don’t know if anyone has asked this yet, but do you still keep good contact with the other Play members? Also, have you listened to any of their solo stuff yet?
Anaïs says…
Heey!
Not at all for the moment, we have so different lives and work in different countries.
I have listened to their solo songs and I wasn’t suprised to hear that they are very talented girls;)
Love,
Anaïs
To Sanne: Your solo songs are amazing! Your voice is SO beautiful and soulful, and I am in love with a song you recorded called “Hard to Love”. My question to you is, would you ever reconsider re-recording some of your solo songs with the group?
Sanne says…
Thank You!
I haven’t listnen to that song for so long, but I never consider doing that song with Play.
I have been in the studio writing songs that I thought would be a good match for Play =)
To Emelie: From watching the demo reel, I can’t help but notice you have somewhat of british accent. I know you said you have went to school in UK at some point in your life. How long were you there?
Emelie says…
Haha i hear from people from time to time that I sound a bit brittish when i speak english. I only lived in London for half a year but i have mostly been hanging out with brits and australians so i guess my english is a mix of everything=)
Erin asks…
Hi Play,
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions!
To all of you:
What is one thing you wish you knew 10 years ago about life?
What would you say is the biggest thing you regret (if anything)?
And lastly, if you were stranded on a desert island and could only take three things with you aside from food and water, what would they be and why? (HAD to ask hahaha)
Anaïs says…
Hey Erin!
Those are diffuclt questions..hmm..
1. I have to get back to you on this one..
2. Being blond for 2 years. It ruined my hair! And looked really bad..
3. My iphone! Can’t live without it!Love,
Anaïs
Sanne says…

Emelie says…
I dont wish i knew anything from what i know now ten years ago. I wanna make mistakes cuz that makes your life!
If I was stranded on a deserted island i would bring an ipod cuz i cant live without listening to music, a neverending book and a nice boy to keep me safe and warm! haha ;)
Dan asks…
Hej–I’m currently learning Swedish and I’m REALLY enjoying it! I was wondering if you girls ever found it hard to speak/write/sing in English or still do at times? Tack!
Sanne says…
I love to sing in english and I it comes very natural for me, write and speak I getting better at every day!
Emelie says…
I can honestly tell you that of course its hard to switch between languages, sometimes you forget words when you speak. But for me, its not hard to speak or write, it feels very natural in the end. In Sweden we learn english from third grade.
Anaïs says…
Heey Dan!
Seriously?! You know that swedish is one of the hardest languages in the world to learn? Wow I think that’s awesome.
English was sort of easy for me as I’m already bilingual. So I actually also enoyed learning it alot!
love,
Anaïs
Darian asks…
Sanne: Your style is very rock ‘n’ roll, and I love it!! do you listen to rock? what is your favorite band? I love that you shaved your head, it takes a lot of guts and it’s something I’ve been wanting to do.
Sanne says…
Thank you!!
I listen to rock yes, Rolling stones, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Gil Scott Heron spoken words/ blues, and many many more! =)
Emelie: I know you’ve done work with E-Type before, but what is it like being in a group like Play? Is it different from what you’re used to? What sort of things are you having to adjust to or change?
Emelie says…
I love to be in a gruóup! its a big difference because now theres three opinions about everything, we have to talk through everything we do, really listen to eachother and what we want so that everyone is happy! musicwise I just think its heaps of fun! We support eachother nd give eachother energy on stage, and also when we´re away travelling we´re never alone! we always have eachother to turn to.
Anais: If this is too personal I totally understand, but has Fanny leaving the group twice now damaged your friendship with her in any way? Were you two even friends after she left the first time?
And if it is too personal: You always have amazing shoes (I’m a shoe addict! haha) From Louboutins to YSLs, I’ve been in love with every pair of shoes I’ve seen you in recently. What is your absolute favorite pair of shoes and why?
Anaïs says…
Hey Darian,
I LOVE THAT YOU’VE NOTICED MY SHOES!! Haha.. I’m such a shoe-addict.
My favourite shoes come from YSL, I love them all. Louboutin shoes I think are a peice of art. So amazing. I would take a couple of paris of Louboutin over diamonds ANY DAY! I have a pair of booties from YSL in leoprad print. Those were a gift and my favs ‘cuase no one I’ve seen so far has them..Faye leaving was very difficult from me, it was not easy in any way. We have always been friends but dealing with it two times has been hard on me.
Love from a shoelover to another,
Anaïs
Morgan asks…
Anais: When you first joined Play you were so young. I was always under the impression that Play had been together for at least a year before you got signed but apparently it was only a couple of weeks!
Were you ever apprehensive about joining a group with three other people that you barely knew? How did you guys get to know each other so well in a short amount of time?
Once you signed to the label, how often were you able to travel home?
Anaïs says…
Hey Morgan,
Well we were so young in the beginning and at the age of 12 you make best friend really really quickly:) So we were all bestes friends after two weeks so I never even thought about it!
Love,
Anaïs
Sanne: I love your voice so much. Its so unique. What’s your favorite type of music to sing?
Sanne says…
I love music! So I don’t have a favorite, I love the 80s 90s Rock, pop, electro, blues, jazz, I also been doing a bit of classic when I was younger… I have a secret dream I’m singing the opera, that would be, in my opinion just awsome =)
Emelie: Did you go to college or have you pretty much always been pursuing your singing career?
Emelie says…
I have been to uni, and yes i´ve also been to college! But here its calles gymnasium! Thats where me and Sanne met. Rosie and Fanny also attended that school at the sme time as us!
Brittany asks…
Have you girls ever thought about making another behind-the-scenes DVD like you did with Playin’ Around the World? It would be neat to see some behind-the scenes footage when you girls start to get HUGE over here again :)
Sanne says…
I’m sure were going to do a lot of “behind-the scenes footage” when we get our own homepage! =)
Anaïs says…
Hey Brittany!
We haven’t talked about making a DVD, but we are filming a lot for future projects I really hope you all get to see!
Chelsea asks…
whats your favorite color? anais? sanne? emelie?
Anaïs says…
I love them all! Maybe not grey and brown, but otehrwise they are all my favs.
Love,
Anaïs
Sanne says…
Black… =)
Emelie says…
My favourite color is green!
