As I read this letter from Anais, Faye, and Sanne, I am filled with such excitement and happiness that words can’t even describe!
“To All the Wonderful Fans of Play in the U.S.A. and Elsewhere
We want to thank you for the incredible support you have given us over the years and continue to give us. We are truly blessed to have such loyal and passionate friends in the U.S. and elsewhere outside of Sweden. We all grew up together, and we appreciate your love and encouragement more than you can ever know. This only makes us determined to come back stronger and better for you than ever.
The past seven months have been spent rehearsing, recording and performing but only in Sweden. We felt it was important to stay close to home as we started this new journey, so we could welcome Sanne into Play and restart the process of becoming a real group again. It has been hard work, and we still have a ways to go before we will be satisfied with our performance. But we feel ourselves growing stronger each day. We want to perform for you, speak with you again in person, and tell you face to face how much you all mean to us. Time may have passed, but our connection to all of you is as strong as ever. So is our love of singing and performing. We are proud of our new CD and hope you like what you have heard. Rest assured, it will be available for purchase in the U.S.A and elsewhere.
So let there be no doubt: Play is returning to the U.S. and we are determined to do it in a big way. We have commitments in Sweden through the end of summer, all of which is a rehearsal for branching out and conquering the world. This fall we will start plotting our return. There are people already working to make that happen. We will be performing in New York in December, and it is possible other dates may be added on that trip.
But the truth is we need your help, perhaps more now than ever. We cannot do it without you. As always it is up to you wonderful fans to spread the word – we need and love all the support we can get from you! Soon you will hear about exciting new contests that will allow you to win Play CDs, merchandise, and even get a special phone call from us. We know we have been very quiet up until now, but things are ABOUT TO GET VERY LOUD. We hope you will be as excited as we are.

wow reading that..brought me to tears in a good way .PLAY has been my fav group for 8 years and i dreamed of the day when they would come back and return to the USA… we all need to help them and spread the word.. if u have twitter Tweet about PLAY and follow @PLAYartist on twitter ,also when u go on youtube and view similiar artists and u comment on them mention PLAY in the comments..
Sanne Fanny and especially Anais (who has had a special place in my heart for 8 years) i just want to thank u so much for making such a beautiful album, by far PLAY’s best CD ever and deciding to come back here to the USA and bring beauty and love back into our lives like u have done so many times in the past

Courtney, about the “record deal,” perhaps I should clear this up here since I didn’t seem to make it clear enough in the message I sent you, haha…
I don’t pretend to be an expert, but having released an independent album myself a few years ago and having been in contact with lots of independent (and major label) artists over the years, I’ve learned a thing or three about these sorts of deals…
As I understand it, Dampcellar is an independent music production company, which you could loosely describe as a “label.” They aren’t part of a major label (e.g. Jive Records) or affiliated with any giant music conglomerates who own major labels (e.g. BMG). However, for Anna, this is probably the best choice for a label on which to release an album. It looks as though they’ve just begun producing albums, and she is by far the best-known artist they’ve worked with, so they’ll probably find it very worthwhile to invest in her, whereas a major label might misjudge or underestimate her based on the cute kid she was when she was in a major-label group (at a time when the music landscape and economic landscape was significantly different).
Besides that, Dampcellar has produced music for a lot of major commercials, so they probably have great ties to TV/film placement. From what it looks like, they have experience, they have clout, they take Anna seriously, and as an artist you couldn’t really ask for more. So I was happy for her. So I wrote on her wall and told her so. ;-)
Now.. when they get HUGE..we (fans) will be proud we’ve liked PLAY for so long !! lol :)
I’m soooo excited for PLAY to b comin 2 the USA :) Also does any1 know if any or all of the girls ever became legal USA citizians?
WOW! I am soooo HAPPY! lol I was a fan since I heard UATW on RadioDisney! and now I’m 19 and I still love them! I hope they can come to Miami! I have unfortunately never been to one of their concerts so that would be amazing! I can’t explain how excited I am! I was one of those fans that continued to check out play-mania.com even after they broke up and I followed them on to the blogspot that Lisa made and now I still check out this site! Ahhhhhh! I just have an obsession that never went away! I love Play!

Since it's been such a long time since some of us have seen you girls in concert or heard you on the air waves, we have a suggestion. Whenever you hit the US, it would be so incredible if Rosie ( //Rosanna), Anna, and possibly Janet could open up for you girls? That way, it would be like one big reunion all while welcoming Sanne! <3

Fanny/Faye is the same girl. Faye’s real name is actually Fanny so that is what she goes by now. :)
